2023 André van Rensburg Cabernet Sauvignon–Merlot–Cabernet Franc

The wine

A Stellenbosch Bordeaux-style blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, sourced from the Helderberg and Simonsberg.

Matured for 18 months in 225-litre French oak barrels, 40% new, followed by at least 12 months in bottle.

Blackcurrant, sour cherry, pencil shavings and fynbos notes combine with soft tannins and a long finish. Serve at 15–17°C with lamb or other red meat.
